Segregating waste at source ensures that wet waste can be composted, dry waste can be recycled, and hazardous waste is safely disposed. Mixed waste ends up in landfills, losing all recycling potential and causing environmental harm. Segregation increases processing efficiency by over 60%.

Collected waste is transported to a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) where it is further sorted. Wet waste goes to composting units or biogas plants. Dry recyclables are sent to recycling units. Reject waste that cannot be processed is sent to engineered scientific landfills.

You can report missed collection through our municipal helpline (1800-XXX-XXXX), the SwachhNagar mobile app, or by filing a complaint on the citizen portal. Your complaint is tracked with a unique ID and resolved within 48 hours.

Single-use plastic takes 100-500 years to decompose. It clogs drains, pollutes water bodies, harms marine life, and breaks into microplastics that enter our food chain. The municipal ban on single-use plastic below 75 microns is enforced under the Plastic Waste Management Rules.

Start by carrying reusable bags, bottles, and containers. Buy in bulk to reduce packaging. Compost kitchen waste at home. Donate old clothes and items instead of discarding. Choose products with minimal packaging. Avoid single-use disposables. Small daily changes create massive impact over time.
